Asian Schools Institute Safety + Security (ASISS) was founded in 2016 when the International School of Beijing and Singapore American School created a partnership and platform for international schools to share and adopt best practices in school security, risk mitigation, and emergency planning.
BluOcean Security is a proud supporter and sponsor of ASISS. Together, the community continues to promote health, safety and security for international schools in Asia and share insight on cutting-edge security solutions.
Today, ASISS has expanded its membership to include international schools across Asia Pacific. Each year, members from the international school community come together to exchange insight and resources on school security. Facility members, directors and security personnel share use cases and protocols to benefit security and risk management within schools.
During the recent ASISS conference, BluOcean collaborated with Michael Flynn, Facilities Director of International School of Manila (ISM). We shared a case study review and analysis on the recent upgrade and retrofit BluOcean completed for the school. This involved over 700 controlled doors and implementation of a modern electronic access control system, and continuing work to upgrade their camera and video systems.

During the latest ASISS conference in Bangkok, we shared our knowledge and experience working on the ISM project with other schools that may face similar challenges. It is always a great learning experience to exchange knowledge with like minded professionals who share common goals. We aim to continue promoting the safety of learning spaces for our future world leaders and innovators.
