Strengthening Security for a Global Life Sciences Manufacturer in Japan

BluOcean Security recently won a security systems upgrade project for a global life sciences manufacturer at their factory site in Japan. The client approached BluOcean for support on aligning their security infrastructure with their global standards, seeking more consistency and reliability.

The project covers a single site with multiple buildings and focused on upgrading the client’s access control and CCTV systems. BluOcean recognizes that for organizations operating across multiple regions, security consistency is essential to ensure reliability, scalability, and seamless management. This is achieved through alignment with the clients internal security teams and high security standards.

Aligning Local Delivery with Global Security Standards

The client required an upgrade to its existing access control and video surveillance systems with specific global standards in place. BluOcean supported the transition to an on-premise system using S2 NetBox for access control, Milestone Husky NVR, and Hanwha CCTV.

During the earlier stages of the project, we identified key infrastructure improvements that would help strengthen system performance. This included new cabling for each door to improve stability and reduce future maintenance efforts. The team also proposed replacing existing analog cameras with IP cameras and adding additional cameras to improve site coverage. These improvements helped the client build a stronger security foundation for the site.

An Accounts-Based Approach

BluOcean was selected for the project based on the client’s trust in our account and project management capabilities. As an existing client, BluOcean also works with the client in other locations in Asia Pacific, including Singapore, Australia and the Philippines.

For the Japan site, the BluOcean team worked through multiple rounds of solutions refinement to meet the client’s requirements. Coordination included meetings with the client’s IT team on network switches, schedule alignment with the client’s on-site team, and structured reporting through Salesforce and Smartsheet.

Supporting Long-Term Security Reliability

Following security installation, BluOcean will continue to provide maintenance service, helping the client maintain system performance.
